Luxembourg

My original plan for Luxembourg was to stay a couple nights as I was driving from Belgium to Germany. I didn't think it would be anything special but it turns out I was wrong! It was a beautiful country, with a rich history and I wish I would have stayed longer!

Le Royal Luxembourg

This hotel, in my opinion had the best location by far. You literally cross the street and are in the outdoor shopping and dining district, no cars allowed. The surrounding area is clean and well kept. I got the impression that it was a business hub because there were tons of men, not many women.

The hotel itself was modern classic. It is always a bummer when you see photos online and expect one thing, usually something really nice and then end up being sadly disappointed. Well, Le Royal Luxembourg was the opposite. It exceeded my expectations in every way and I would indeed recommend it.

The delicacies

Part of exploring other cities includes, exploring all types of dishes. You don't always need to eat at expensive restaurants to enjoy different cultures. Sometimes its as easy as searching for the nearest bakery. I always use yelp and surprisingly, I look up hashtags on Instagram. I usually search the city name and then a key work which almost always works (#Milanfoodoftheday). If you want something authentic, do as the locals do. I swear if you hashtag the city you are in, you will end up with loads of ideas for food and activities!

There are so many castles in Luxembourg and unfortunately, my photos do not do them justice. This castle in particular was my favorite because it is that of my ancestors, well, possibly, same last name. It was built in 963! And is still standing despite that fact that it was attacked and rebuilt several times. You can tour the castle which has tons of underground passageways, bridges, motes and all. You really get the medieval feel!
