the porsche museum, stuttgart

The only reason we went to Stuttgart was for the Porsche Museum. And let me tell you, this is nothing like your typical museum tour. Porsche actually displays all of the generations of cars! You can opt for headphones to listen to the history of the company or you can just enjoy the beauties. It was amazing! You can take as many flash photos as you want. They don't allow people to get inside the cars but you can pose with them for photos! At the end of the 3 level tour, you can play a car video game and get interactive with the different types of Porsche engines.

If you plan in advance, which we didn't, you can tour the factory where the Porsche is actually made. Apparently, you have to book weeks in advance.

Fast cars & the autobahn

This was my first time in Germany and one of the things that I most looked forward to was the Autobahn! Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to drive fast! Luckily, it has been awhile since my last ticket. I could only imagine what it would be like to drive on a highway with no speed limit! I was ready to burn rubber! At first I have to admit, I was a little worried because I had heard that when there is an accident on the highway, everyone is presumed dead, so the ambulance doesn't rush. Not sure if that was true. Well, for a country as organized as Germany, I expected nothing short of a highway that flows like a composition from Mozart. Despite the fact that you could go as fast as you wanted in the left lane, everything functioned better than the state highways. Everyone who wasn't going a zillion miles an hour would stay on the right and move over for a faster approaching car. No lane weaving needed!

Altoff Hotel, Stuttgart

I don't complain about hotels very often but this is bar far the worst hotel. My experience was so terrible it is comical. The Leading Hotels went very wrong with this choice!

As soon as we arrived, we waited nearly 15 minutes for a valet or bellman. We arrived after 4pm and our room wasn't ready. The reception gave us drink coupons and sent us to the bar where there wasn't any staff. We sat again for 20 minutes before we had to go look for an employee. That night we called for room service but nobody answered so we called the reception, no answer and same with the concierge... It was my worst experience! I'm glad that I blog so I can give a little guidance.
